Famed Neurosurgeon Slams Obamacare : The Last Resistance

HOW THANKSGIVING BEGAN

On the 3rd day of October in 1789, in New York City, the following proclomation was signed by George Washington.

Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; andWhereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me to "recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts and many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness."

Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficient author of all the good that was , that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him out sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enable to establish constitutions and government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to the knowlege and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperty as He alone knows to be best.

Busy, Busy, Busy

I find I have been extremely busy practicing Chiropractic five full days per week and a half a day on Saturday which has not been leaving me time do do what I like to do in my down time, which is to write. I enter comments on TWITTER because it is brief and easy to do. But I haven't been able to post entries on my blog because of scheduling, and intent and feeling to write. There are many topics that have been on my mind to write about but some evenings I am so tired after taking care of the amount of patients I am seeing and eating dinner afterwards, I have been just to tired to think or to even write. With a change in scheduling professionally and some personal changes in my life by the end of this year I will be writing regularly.

Busy, Busy, Busy

I have been extremely busy practicing Chiropractic that I have not had enough time to write which is like a catharsis to me. I haven't been this busy in 40 years.I am busy from 11:00AM on Monday until 4:00PM on Saturday. It is getting to a point that my stomach is saying to my body SLOW DOWN. I work hard during the week and I completely enjoy every minute of my week-ends.I will find time to write shortly.

Premonition

A very good friend of mine whom I had dinner with many nights past away about six weeks ago. It was about that time one evening while having dinner a gentleman was standing behind me and talking to me and a few of the other people that were friends of the deceased and whom had dinner with him and knew him very well. It just so happens that the gentleman standing behind me was the son of the deceased. He was from another state and never really spent much time with his Dad, from what we understood. He sat down with me and a few other people and wanted to know about his Dad. After about two hours he commented that we were like family to his father and he learned many facets of his fathers life especially his persistant smile and positive attitude.

While I was talking to him and listening to his questions I felt an eary feeling and said to myself; "Is this what my sons are going to have to do". Unlike the deceased who had a long lasting marriage but his wife past away a few years ago, my first marriage was short lived but has had a lasting effect in the fact that I haven't seen my sons from my first marriage in almost thirty years.

This simple conversation with the son of a good and gentle friend has helped to give me the insights as to the MORAL and LEGAL perspectives in resolving my delemma.
